Who can you trust when looking for contractors, considered DBS or CRB certificates?
Who can you trust? It’s a serious and simple question. How do you find your contractors when something needs doing in the home? Which ever search method you choose to find them, chances are you’ve never met them before! So how do you know you’ll be safe and secure with your chosen contractor?
Look for the contractor who has already gone that extra mile
We offer you a step up with this situation! At Damp Checks Surveying, we have already undertaken an enhanced Data Barring Service (DBS) check. If you wish, ask your Damp Checks surveyor to see their personal copy of the certificate. The DBS was previously known as the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB). If you need a copy of this as part of your procedural checks, then please let us know. If you simply wish to see the certificate at the time of the surveyor visit, it will be carried on every visit.
What else can we offer to make us different?
Honesty! During a telephone enquiry, we can sometimes advise the caller to approach an alternative party if they are more relevant and better able to help. Sometimes people aren’t actually aware their situation may be covered by their insurance policy, so we advise if this might be the case. If we are not confident in providing the services you are looking for, we will not just “turn up and try” in the hope it may work! Unbiased! Because we are not linked with any third party contractors, you are assured of the facts with impartial advice and guidance. If you ask a contractor, what do I need, do you really think they will say “you need to go and get a quote for someone else’s services mate!”
Full overview
A “free survey” rarely extends beyond looking at the one area affected Our surveys involve the inspection of many different aspects of the house and its condition. We take into account all relevant details, from environmental (humidity and temperature) to moisture content. There have been too many instances where the property owner wrongly thought there was rising damp. Even if they are right, it is usually induced rising damp, rectified by removing the cause. When we can tell them to save their money on unnecessary damp proofing, it is very rewarding.
